Associate Producer (Eugen Systems)
I got an internship at Eugen Systems, from July 2011 up until the end of January 2012, where i assisted the producer in the development of their latest game, Wargame: European Escalation (Focus Home Interactive being the project’s editor). During those 7 months, i had 3 main tasks :
PRODUCTION FOLLOW UP
My internship didn’t start during the early stages of the development. At this point the game was 50% done, therefore i wasn’t part of the planning stages of the development. Instead, i had to focus on the production follow up.
One of my roles was to follow bug reports and corrections, or even the addition of a new feature in the game.
After the beta phase of the project, it was mendatory to add or modify some of the features, and i was asked to assess the costs of those changes and see with the management if they were worth it.
OUTSOURCING
My second big task was to help the producer in managing the graphic outsourcing, slowly becoming responsible of it.
I had a few tasks for it : Specifications (Research/Specs documents for 3D models to be created by the outsourcing studio), models quality checks and insertion in the game files.
This task was set to end in september, but ended up during until the end of december, the studio having made the call to add extra units into the game.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
At the begining of my internship, the studio had his own QA tester, working with the editor’s QA team. But by the end of september, our tester had finished his internship, and i had to help testing some important features who had a deadline coming up. I therefore help by becoming the link between Focus’s QA team and the studio’s developers.
Another QA intern got recruited a month later, unloading me of this extra task.
